Wasp & Bee Removal

A wasp nest by the back door is a job to take seriously — especially with kids around. We remove and treat wasp nests safely, and we'll point you the right way on bees.

There's a moment every summer where someone notices wasps coming and going from a single spot — under the eaves, in the roof void, behind the meter box — and realises there's a nest. With kids and pets around, that's a job worth dealing with quickly and properly, not poking at with a broom.

We handle wasp nests right across the Illawarra, safely and with the right gear.

Wasps we deal with

  • European wasps — the serious ones. Aggressive, they sting repeatedly, and their nests can grow huge. Often nested in the ground, wall cavities or roof voids. Definitely a professional job.
  • Paper wasps — the open, umbrella-shaped nests under eaves, pergolas and in shrubs. Less aggressive but a painful sting if you brush one.
  • Mud wasps — the little mud tubes on walls and under eaves. Mostly harmless but a nuisance, and we'll clear them while we're there.

How we remove them

We treat the nest directly with the right product and protective gear, knock down the activity, and remove or make safe the nest where we can get to it. For European wasps especially, treating the nest itself is the only thing that actually solves it — knocking down what you can see just sends the rest looking for you.

A word on bees

Bees are a different story. Honey bees are protected and they're vital pollinators, so killing a swarm should always be the last resort. If you've got a swarm that's just resting, it'll often move on within a day or two on its own. If bees have set up a hive somewhere awkward, the right call is usually a local beekeeper who can relocate them. Give us a ring either way and we'll give you straight, honest advice on whether it's a job for us or for a beekeeper.

Common questions

Can you remove a wasp nest the same day?
Often, yes — wasp nests are weather and access dependent, but they're a job we prioritise because of the sting risk. Give us a call with where the nest is and we'll let you know how quickly we can get to you.
What's the difference between a wasp and a bee problem?
Wasps (European, paper, mud) are aggressive and we treat them directly. Honey bees are protected and valuable pollinators — wherever possible they should be relocated by a beekeeper rather than killed, and we'll help point you in the right direction.
Is it safe to deal with a wasp nest myself?
We'd really rather you didn't. European wasps in particular swarm and sting repeatedly when disturbed, and a knocked nest can send dozens after you. It's not worth the risk when a quick professional treatment sorts it.
