Why a spray on its own doesn't hold on a bush block
Because the supply never stops. There's bush behind you with more rodents and more spiders in it, so unless the ways in are closed, whatever you treat gets replaced.
- Trim anything that bridges onto the roof. A branch two metres clear of the gutter is fine, a branch brushing the eave is a ladder — and fences and washing lines count too.
- Keep mulch, firewood and timber offcuts off the walls and out from under the deck. Timber sitting against soil and brickwork is an invitation to termites as well.
- Then close the gaps: the fascia line, lifted tiles over a valley, unscreened gable vents. It's the slow part of the job and it's the part that makes the treatment last.
